The road widening project of a busy trunk road leading to the city of Ipoh had lead to the restoration of this 80 year old traditional Perak Malay House. As the federal government proceeded with the plan, this historical house would have to be demolished as the front portion of the house would be too close to the road. Fortunately, the 80 years old house is sited on a 10 acre Durian orchard and that the house could be easily moved to an area within the site.

The entire front and sides of the site is fenced using timber for privacy and security. A simple roof form was used to expressed the light weight form of this tropical house.
