Happy Deepavali!

Deepavali or Diwali is the most important Hindu festival celebrated by Hindu community in Malaysia and across the globe. Known as the ‘Festival of Lights’, it is celebrated during the Hindu month of Kartik in October / November each year. The celebration symbolises the victory of Lord Krishna over the demon King Narakasura. It also marks the return of Rama over 14 years of exile that indicates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. During Deepavali, Hindus wake up at dawn, taking bath with herbal oil, wearing new clothes, and performing prayers. Homes will be decorated with the lights from little oil lamps made of clay pots filled with coconut oil and wicks. This is believed that the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi will visit and give blessings to the households. .
