Now, ATSA is embarking into being a leader in the "Green Architecture" and currently is active in promoting "Green Architecture" and has in cooperating passive designs for its future projects. ATSA is also very enthusiastic and ambitious in adopting the "2030 Challenge".

To commemorate this milestone, an Anniversary Dinner was held on 7th July 2012 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Bukit Kiara. The dinner is to celebrate the milestone of ATSA Architects, ATSA staff and clients. Attended by 250 guests, the dinner carried a smart casual 'Black & Green' theme where the colour green symbolises ATSA's efforts towards Green and Sustainable designs.

Sustainable Design for living.

The Green Building Index (GBI) is Malaysia's industry recognized green rating tool for buildings for the purpose of promoting sustainable design in our built environment and to raise awareness amongst Developers, Architects, Engineers, Planners, Designers, Contractors and the Public on the need of sustainability. To live in a sustainable world, we must be concerned with the many threatening environmental issues and responsibility to correct it in order to ensure that the future generations will live in a world that is safe and livable. We must learn from our past mistakes to ensure that our world will be a better place to live for our children and teach them how importantant our environment is.

The GBI rating tool provides an opportunity for developers and building owners to live and work, in sustainable buildings that can provide energy savings, water savings, a healthier indoor environment, better connectivity to public transport and create awareness of the need to recycle used materials to introduce lush greenery in their buildings and replenish the environment.

ATSA Updates
A Design concept for a green mosque in Malaysia that is aiming for Gold rating Green Building Index (GBI) certification.

Amongst the significant Green criteria that have been proposed into the building design is for the ablution area where custom made roofing is designed to allow for rain water harvesting for the prayers to conduct their ablution rituals. The mosque is also designed to promote natural ventilation and lighting. The screening of the mosque will be using perforated screening. Floor to floor height has been increased to 4.3 metre for a better air circulation and cooling effect. An open air central courtyard was proposed to serve as a space that would provide natural ventilation and lighting.

The mosque is envisaged to be a self-sufficient building. Not only for its water supplies but it also would be able to produce and generate its own electricity via solar panels that will be installed in the phase for future development.
Mild Steel is used for the roofing of the mosque to create a floating effect that gives the mosque its distinguished architectural value.

The design would be an Islamic Art in a modern and contemporary rendition and interpretation of what is often referred to as traditional sense. The foyer of the mosque will be designed with geometric Islamic design that would elaborate the modern and contemporary rendition of Islamic Art.
Completed Project

Temasya Sales Gallery, Glenmarie, Shah Alam, Selangor
The project sits on a 5099.03 sq m (1.26 acre) land and is strategically located in the prime industrial area of Glenmarie, Shah Alam with easy access to main roads and major hiways. There are also other renowned automotive service centers located within the vicinity of this industrial park. This cooperate image building encompasses four main programme: a showroom (gallery), product department, marketing department and after sales / complaint department.

This project is a model of productivity, efficiency and designed functional. It expresses quality and optimum functionality of its facility, in order to offer the best service to its clients. The architecture of this new building represent modern contemporary tendencies, distinguishing itself through its architectural design, while at the same time integrating with the existing structures from the surrounding development of this infamous industrial park and hi-end surroundings housing scheme.

Building screening and shades , space hierarchy programme (building function and private circulation) , provision for handicap (ramp at every entrances, disable toilets and disable parking), public zoning (public circulation, public courtyard and public facilities) which is parallel with the high security and safety concept which will be a great concern for this type of building operation.

The concept of the exposed center courtyard is to adapt plenty of good natural airflow and cross ventilation. Moreover, this will also promote better natural lighting to brighten up the internal spaces as well as along the internal corridor.
